Signs of appendicitis or pelvic diseases
Due to the varying size and location of the appendix and the proximity of other organs to the appendix, it may be difficult to differentiate appendicitis from other abdominal and pelvic diseases. Signs of appendicitis include localized findings in the right iliac fossa. If the blockage continues, the inflamed tissue becomes infected with bacteria and begins to die from a lack of blood supply, which finally results in the rupture of the appendix (perforated or ruptured appendix).
If you have appendicitis, the area will feel tender when you apply pressure to it. A laparoscopic appendectomy involves making several tiny cuts in the abdomen and inserting a tiny camera and surgical instruments. Pregnant women who experience pain on the right side of their abdomen should contact a doctor immediately.
